Apollo Sports Capital and Dundon Capital Partners led a $225 million structured investment in Pickleball Inc., establishing it as the new parent company of the Carvana PPA Tour and Major League Pickleball and bringing total funding into the business to roughly $315 million. PPA Tour founder and Pickleball Inc. CEO Connor Pardoe called it a seismic day for the sport, with the deal rolling Pickleball Central, PickleballTournaments.com, and Just Courts under one roof to create what the company describes as the largest singularly operated pickleball ecosystem in existence.

Teen sensation Tama Shimabukuro stuns Staksrud in three-game thriller at PPA Atlanta
15-year-old Tama Shimabukuro upset No. 2 seed Federico Staksrud 6-11, 11-8, 11-9 in the men's singles Round of 16 at the Veolia Atlanta Pickleball Championships, two weeks after falling to Staksrud at the same stage of the Fasenra Sacramento Open. The match on Humana Championship Court hung at 9-9 in the deciding game and ran nearly 70 minutes, sending Shimabukuro into the quarterfinals at the final Slam of the 2025-2026 PPA Tour season.
