Kloss tags New Jersey 5s (Howells, Khlif, Waters, Jorja Johnson) and the St. Louis Shock (Patriquin, Tardio, Bright, Fahey) as the two near-perfect tier-one teams most likely to meet for the championship, with Brooklyn, Columbus, and LA Mad Drops as the only other contenders capable of winning it all.

Major League Pickleball recapped the first of four planned 2026 waiver periods on May 16, in which teams could swap currently rostered players for UPA-signed, MLP non-rostered players by submitting bids starting at $1,000. Two teams made moves: the Dallas Flash claimed Hsiang Wen-Huang and waived Angie Walker, while the Carolina Hogs added Abbigail Hatton and Connor Mogle while waiving Ava Ignatowich and James Delgado, with Waiver Period #2 set for early June.
