  • USA Pickleball Launches Long-Awaited Spin Rate Test

    On October 1, 2026, USA Pickleball will implement a new Spin Rate Test that measures paddle RPM using a dual-camera PaddleVision system built by Sweden-based Image Systems, setting an official spin ceiling of 2,100 RPM. Paddles certified after that date must pass the test, the standard operating procedure will be distributed on July 15, and paddles approved before October 1 remain valid under the standards in place when they were certified.

  • Paddletek Announces Acquisition of PIKKL, Signs Johnson Family and Hurricane Tyra Black

    Paddletek Group announced Tuesday that it has acquired paddle brand PIKKL and signed Jorja Johnson, JW Johnson, Julie Johnson, and Hurricane Tyra Black to Team Paddletek, adding to a portfolio that already includes Paddletek, ProXR, and Yobow. The Johnsons, who left Franklin Pickleball in January and spent months testing paddles, will continue using PIKKL equipment, while Black has been with PIKKL for several years.
